This web site is owned and operated by Need A Teacher and is made available to you on the following terms and conditions. By using the site and the services available on it you are deemed to accept these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions relate to the supply to a school by Need A Teacher of temporary teachers to cover teaching requirements.
On receiving a request for the supply of a temporary teacher, Need A Teacher will endeavour to supply a suitable temporary teacher to the school from it's database of registered teachers. Need A Teacher will find the most suitable teacher for the position based on an assessment of suitability which includes making sure that they have the necessary qualifications for the position for which they are required. Need A Teacher is responsible for checking all references supplied by all registered teachers.

Teachers - Registration
In order to register with Need A Teacher, teachers must fill in the registration form on the Need A Teacher website and pay the non-refundable annual registration fee of 40 Euros.
A teacher's registration will only be activated when their payment of 40 Euros has been accepted and verified. Teachers understand they are not fully-registered until all required documents of verification have been provided to Need A Teacher.
Teachers understand that their one year's registration begins on the date they pay their annual registration fee to Need A Teacher.
In the case where a teacher chooses to make payment using a credit/debit card that doesn't bear his/her name (e.g. family member or friend's credit/debit card), the teacher must email Need A Teacher stating that this is the case, stating both names so that the payment can be verified.
In order for Need A Teacher to begin offering teaching positions to a teacher, the teacher must provide necessary verification by either:
(a) Send an email to Need A Teacher, attaching the following:
A digital copy of photographic identification e.g. driver's licence, passport
A digital copy of a Teaching Council of Ireland/General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland confirmation letter, stating his/her registration number.
or, (b) post photocopies of the following to Need A Teacher:
Photographic identification e.g. driver's licence, passport
A Teaching Council of Ireland/General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland confirmation letter, stating his/her registration number.
Teachers must provide their Teaching Council Registration Number whilst registering online with us.
In the case where a teacher is awaiting completion of their registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland/General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland, he/she should forward all required documents to Need A Teacher once they become available.
Teachers understand that the non-refundable annual registration fee of 40 Euros will not be refunded for any reason.

Teachers - Recruit
Need A Teacher give fully-registered teachers 10 Euros for recruiting a new fully-registered teacher with Need A Teacher. The recruited teacher, upon fully-registering with Need A Teacher will email Need A Teacher stating who recruited them, thus allowing Need A Teacher to give 10 Euros to the teacher stated in the email. This opportunity is open to all fully-registered teachers only. Need A Teacher will not give money to a teacher who is not fully-registered regardless of how many recruitments they make. This opportunity will run until further notice.

Teachers
Teachers understand that Need A Teacher provides teaching positions to registered teachers on a when-needed basis. Quantity of demand for teaching positions is determined only by registered schools and Need A Teacher is not responsible for the amount of teaching positions made available to any registered teacher.
Both the school and the temporary teacher must notify Need A Teacher, via email, when any period of employment ends, otherwise our database will continue to deem the teacher unavailable for work, and the teacher will not be offered any further work that becomes available. It is the teacher's responsibility to have the school notify Need A Teacher once his/her period of employment at the school has concluded.
If the school decides to employ a temporary teacher for a period of time longer than that already expressed to Need A Teacher both the school and the temporary teacher will notify Need A Teacher immediately.
If a registered teacher proves to be unreliable, indecisive, acts in such a way that jeopardizes the efficiency with which Need A Teacher aspires to operate, is consistently unavailable for temporary work made available to him/her by Need A Teacher then Need A Teacher will not be in any way responsible or accountable for any reduction in offers of work made available to him/her.
All registered teachers understand that Need A Teacher endeavours to provide all schools with substitute teachers who adhere to the professional standards expected of them. All registered teachers understand that they alone are responsible and accountable for the quality of services they provide to schools, and should at all times adhere to the professional standards expected of them.
If the teacher is in breach of any of these terms and conditions then Need A Teacher reserves the right to terminate their registration with Need A Teacher permanently without notice and without refund of registration costs. Upon termination of registration Need A Teacher will delete the teacher's details from their database. Re-registration will not be permitted at any time thereafter.
Although we do not ask for feedback from schools regarding any teacher provided by Need A Teacher, if a school chooses to express a negative feedback to Need A Teacher regarding any teacher then Need A Teacher will not be in any way responsible or accountable for any reduction in offers of work made available to that teacher. If Need A Teacher receives three or more negative comments from any number of schools regarding an individual teacher then that teacher will be removed from Need A Teacher's database, Need A Teacher will no longer supply work to that teacher, and re-registration will not be permitted at any time thereafter. Need A Teacher may, but is not obliged to, notify the teacher via email. Need A Teacher will not provide any details to the teacher regarding the schools or comments expressed.

Schools
Both the school and the temporary teacher must notify Need A Teacher, via email, when any period of employment ends, otherwise our database will continue to deem the teacher unavailable for work, and the teacher will not be offered any further work that becomes available. It is the teacher's responsibility to have the school notify Need A Teacher once his/her period of employment at the school has concluded.
If the school decides to employ a temporary teacher for a period of time longer than that already expressed to Need A Teacher both the school and the temporary teacher will notify Need A Teacher immediately.
If the school is in breach of any of these terms and conditions then Need A Teacher reserves the right to terminate their relationship with Need A Teacher permanently without notice, after which Need A Teacher will no longer provide any service to the school.

Liability Of All Parties
Whilst every effort will be made by Need A Teacher to provide a teacher as and when requested by a school, Need A Teacher will not be held responsible in the event of Need A Teacher being unable to do so for any reason.
All registered teachers understand that they alone are responsible and accountable for the quality of services they provide to schools, and should at all times adhere to the professional standards expected of them.
As Need A Teacher do not assume responsibility as an employer, Need A Teacher shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, costs, expenses, or delay howsoever caused (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) arising directly or indirectly from the supply or the non-attendance of any temporary teacher. Need A Teacher shall not be liable for any such loss, injury, damages, costs, expenses, or delay arising from or in any way connected with:
The failure of a temporary teacher to meet the school’s requirements.
Any act or omission of a temporary teacher whether wilful, negligent, fraudulent, dishonest, reckless, or otherwise.
The school assumes responsibility as an employer and will indemnify Need A Teacher against all and any claims and liabilities howsoever arising in respect of any loss, injury, damage, costs, expenses, or delays suffered or incurred by a teacher provided by Need A Teacher, or against all and any claims made by any third party arising directly or indirectly or in any way connected with the introduction or supply of a temporary teacher or the acts or omissions of any such temporary teacher whether wilful, reckless, fraudulent, negligent, dishonest or otherwise.
As Need A Teacher do not assume responsibility as an employer, Need A Teacher shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, costs, expenses, or delays  (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) suffered by or incurred by a teacher provided by Need A Teacher. The school assumes responsibility as an employer and will indemnify Need A Teacher against all and any claims and liabilities howsoever arising in respect of any loss, injury, damage, costs, expenses, or delays suffered by or incurred on a teacher provided by Need A Teacher.
We try to ensure continuous availability of the Need A Teacher website and all the services available on it but accept no responsibility for the consequences of interruptions or delays, however caused. We may, additionally, alter the design and specification of the site at any time.

The information and services available on the Need A Teacher website are provided for the sole purpose of placing qualified teachers in employment. You may use, print and download information from the site for these purposes only and for no other personal or commercial purpose. You may not otherwise copy, display, transmit or distribute any material from the site.
All copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights in the site and the material available on the site belongs to Need A Teacher. Use of the site does not give you any proprietary rights in such materials.
These terms and conditions apply to all supplies and by asking Need A Teacher to make any such supply the school is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions to the exclusion of any other terms and conditions. In the event of a conflict between these terms and conditions and any other terms and conditions these terms and conditions shall prevail unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing by Need A Teacher.
These terms and conditions are subject to change by Need A Teacher. Registered users should familiarise themselves with these terms and conditions in their entirity, and check them regularly for changes or updates.
